Is Now the Right Time to Buy?
We have all heard the reasons to buy now .. historic low interest rates; real estate prices are down an overall average of 30+% here on Maui; prices are down to prior 2007 sales; desperate sellers; motivated sellers. All of these reasons are true and correct. But, is now really the right time to buy?
Today’s economical news stated that home prices have finally leveled out and the drastic drops are seeing an end in most market places across the U.S. Inventory here on Maui is down and Sellers are now able to be a little more flexible with their proposed offers and many are seeing multiple offers on their property. As the market recovers, Sellers will have the advantage.
I have been advising my Buyer clients for the last two plus years, the most important factor in making their decision to buy now .. is to love the property they are considering .. to imagine themselves owning and being content with the subject property for at least 5 years. I, too, have reminded them, it is not all about the money. It is their lifestyle and happiness of being where they are. Although real estate is one of the best long term investments one can add to their portfolios, it is, too, important to be in a place where they can realize enjoyment and peace of mind.
If you are considering buying here on Maui, consider the logistics above and take advantage of the current market place in a home or vacation spot that will uplift you and give you peace. Being stressed over a home is nowhere to be. Maui offers so much for those seeking a healthy and glorious place to live, raise a family or enjoy recreational time. As the infamous Dr. Bronner said, now many years ago, “Health is our Greatest Wealth.” Being happy is a huge part of our good health! Spending time in a desirable place adds to our happiness and quality of living.
